Our service provider has recently upgraded our module server with a 120% increase in download speeds.
With the generous support of the Government of Canada through the Office of Learning Technologies and other partners The Online Lifelong Learning Initiative is online and ready.
CILR will seek out the donation of surplus computer equipment slated for disposal on behalf of their partners and sell it on their behalf. Partners get 80% on the net proceeds of sale of all items obtained on their behalf.
After several years of operation the Council for Innovation and Learning Regina is closing shop as per our most recent General Meeting. For more information you can read the details here.
General meeting previously scheduled for August 24, 2008 has been rescheduled for August 31, 2008.

Meeting and get together will be held August 24, 2008 at 4:00pm Candy Cane Park weather permitting. Alternate location will be Bushwakers at 7:00pm. Event is both a social (Robert's going away) and a very important organizational event.Agenda items include Board of Directors nomination and elections and the future status of the organization.
Long time Board member Robert Jozsa has indicated that he will be resigning from the Board and related duties effective August 15, 2008.
Robert will stay on until August 29, 2008 in an advisory capacity.

Voice scripting and preliminary work on Module Nine "Computer Management" is complete.
Will be entering production phase on Module Nine shortly
Modules Seven, "Storage Devices" and Eight "Getting Around on Your Computer" of our Online Lifelong Learning Initiative series have been completed and are presently in Beta testing
Once we feel they are polished enough for public release we will be making them available though our website "module area"
Members of CILR had the opportunity to travel to the File Hills First Nation to review potential wireless internet tower sites.
These sites would be part of an ongoing project by File Hills to help improve connectivity of First Nations people living in the Qu'apelle Valley area.
Work has begun once again on the Online Lifelong Learning Initiative.
At this point we are reviewing your comments and will use these suggestions in our up and coming modules.
We will be preparing an additional four learning modules to compliment our existing online learning modules, stay tuned for more information.
Thank you! Our funding extension for the Online Lifelong Learning Initiative has been "officially" approved by the Office of Literacy and Essential Skills HRSDC. Disbursements to our partners through our Community Partnerships Program continues to grow. A total of $4,345 has been paid out under this program since April of this year.
CILR supports New Media Development Education through the donation of 3 desktop computers to the New Media Development Department at SIAST Woodlands Campus for use by their students.
We have been advised by our Program Officer at the Office of Literacy and Essential Skills HRSDC that our request to extend our Online Lifelong Learning Initiative has been approved in principle with funding to restart in the new year.
Fixed a problem with our end user survey submission process. Our thanks to our partners for bringing this to our attention.
Reported problems with Module 5 "Outlook Express" not playing on some versions of IE6.0 have been resolved and corrected. Also Module 3 "Basic Windows Functionality" has been updated and is now available to the general public.
